web log - saturday, august 4, 2001 day 21. whew. heh, that pretty much says it all. last night was rough. hannah didn't get to sleep until 3:00am. and then my mom showed up at 10:00am. and hannah had to eat once in there too. my wife and i are pretty tired. and we're both feeling the mental effects of choices we now have before us. we are *really* trying to just take it one day at a time until things settle down... but even just that is hard. we love hannah. and we will never regret having her. but there is nothing that can prepare you for some of this stuff. all in all, we're happy but *really* tired... and it shows. hannah had her first major blowout today. twice... at both ends... at the same time. talk about your "trial by fire". i never thought it could be /that/ color. yowza. but 5 minutes later, we were all cleaned up and heading for dinner. i finished "dave mirra's freestyle bmx" today. good game. graphics were ok, music was good. pretty easy to learn, tough to master. kinda short, unless you wanna try unlocking everything in the game. i didn't. i just wanted a non-violent game to play for a few days. i was really hoping to install windows xp rc2 today. but the necessity of dealing with a sore wife and a little baby come first. i hope to write up a quick review as soon as possible, with a more detailed review to follow up. i've talked to a few people that have copies of it (both legally and illegally) and they all say that, for the most part, this is the best operating system that microsoft has ever produced. i like what i saw after my install of rc1 but i'd like to see how they've improved rc2. peace, spudwrench web log - friday, august 3, 2001 day 20. "...so are the days of our lives" :P ok, so she was up *once* last night. we went to bed at 12:00am, right after she was fed. my wife and i both woke up at 3:00am, wondering why she hadn't cried yet. she was still sound asleep. at 4:00am, my wife finally got her out of bed, to try and feed her, but she was still groggy. so i played with here feet until she woke up and then my wife fed her. we put her back to bed at 5:00am. we woke up again at 8:15am, wondering (again) why she hadn't cried yet. at 8:45am, my wife got her out of bed and played with her until she was awake enough to feed. after she ate, she was bright-eyed and bushy-tailed for a couple hours. talking, cooing and looking around. if this is going to be the pattern of her feedings for a while, i'm stoked. if not, and this is a passing phase, i'm in for a big let-down. i hope this isn't a fluke. we bought the 1996 ford explorer today. 4.0 v6, 4-speed automatic w/ overdrive, 4wd, leather (smells new), am/fm/tape/6 cd and power-everything... for $13,000 (including tax, license and doc fees). looks awesome, drives great... a great car for a mom with a kid. hannah came along for the day and was great. in fact, we had to wake her up after 3 hours (again) to feed her. after that, she was wide awake and wanting to look around. i added a couple more ut map reviews to the reviews page. and i added ragradio to the links page. peace, spudwrench web log - thursday, august 2, 2001 day 19. "as the world turns..." :P hannah has the hiccups again. :) we're doing pretty good. i'm getting just about the same amount of sleep as before. my wife hasn't been as lucky. she has to get up every few hours or so to feed the baby. i can't do much (for obvious reasons) so i tend to get more sleep. but i have changed a few diapers already and i am very good at quieting her down. i'll try to get some pictures up tomorrow. she's so much fun and the cutest thing i've ever seen. i definately *love* having a baby girl. nothing much else new. i downloaded my legal copy of windows xp rc2. i might install it over the weekend. i just want to be sure that i can use my copy of easy cd creator 5. i'm going to try and make some vcd's of pictures of hannah. yeah, i know... i'm getting all "mushy" over having a little girl. and you know what... i wouldn't want it any other way. :) peace, spudwrench web log - wednesday, august 1, 2001 day 18. well, we made it home in one piece. everyone's a little tired so this update is gonna be short. we had a rough night last night but we all managed to get about 6 hours of sleep... eventually. heh, we already have about 50 pictures of hannah. btw, hannah means "grace of god". here's one of the better pictures. yes, that is me holding her. she's 2 days, 1 hour and 8 minutes old. :) i'm home for the rest of the week so i'll definately be able to get some more pictures up. peace, spudwrench web log - tuesday, july 31, 2001 day 17. it's a girl!!! 9lbs. 1oz. & 22" long. i'll have some more story and pictures when we get home. i'm actually home just long enough to take a quick shower. thanks for your well wishes!!! :D peace, spudwrench
