web log - sunday, october 14, 2001 day 90. i wish i would've met you, now it's a little late. what you could've taught me, i could have saved some face. hannah's found her voice! she squeals and squeaks pretty good now. today she wasn't really happy but she smiles pretty wide when i come to rescue mommy from her squawking. v3 finally got their act together and fixed my account. from now on, you should be able to get here from http://go.to/spudwrench. i'll try to fix the graphics at the top of the page during the next week. i keep finding more and more movies that i don't want while wondering around the web. go figure. I'll upload a list of the movies i've found sometime in the next week. yesterday, my father-in-law and i got down to some serious work. first, we took the 6' by 4' window out of the living room. then we starting fitting the new window into the opening. the old window was a single pane, double slider. The new window is double pane, casement (crank-out). half way through that, my buddy with a dump trailer showed up. we swapped trucks and he went to roto-til his in-laws garden. my father-in-law and i then loaded (drum roll, please) 6500 pounds of broken concrete into the dump trailer. talk about burnt out. we then drove 15 miles (mostly freeway) to the dump. $16.25 later, no more concrete in the driveway. when we got back we finished the fitting of the new window into the opening. we secured it with a few screws and called it a day. ouch. i'm still sore from yesterday... but we got a lot done. :) peace, spudwrench web log - thursday, october 10, 2001 day 87. you're riding in my car, i turn on the radio. i'm pulling you closer, but you keep tellin' me "no". you say you don't like it, but I know you're a liar. 'cause when we kiss.... ooooooh... fire. hannah's still doing great. she sleeps very consistantly from 11pm to 7:30am with a 45 minute snack right around 4am. very nice. she smiles at just about anything my wife or i do. she's a doll. i'm very happy. i love being a dad and i love hannah. v3 has got to have the worst customer service that i've experienced. you write them a short e-mail about your problem and they take "years" to deal with it. as anyone that has ever been here can tell you, my "i.am" domain no longer works and they won't release my e-mail address in their database to allow me to get *any* available domains. stu-pid. i wondered by the old unreal tournament site i did map reviews for the other day. things look very slow. updates are every 2 to 3 weeks or so. the site counter only shows 3000+ views since the site went live at the end of april 2001. not very good. i'll probably repost my ut map reviews here. not that they'll do any better (or that i want to "compete" with ut nexus), but i do want them to remain on the 'net. things are getting better and more under control at work. i've finally got everything fixed and am working through my (fortunately) small backlog of work. it could have been worse. the only computer that didn't crash could have. ( <- exaggeration ) i've been a total flake regarding sending a friend in oregon a video tape and a couple cds. there simply is no excuse. i'm a major flake. i promised i'd send this stuff over 2 months ago and.... i haven't done it. i know i should do it but... wait... no excuses. i'm just a flake and i need to follow through and do it. peace, spudwrench web log - tuesday, october 9, 2001 day 86. all in all, you're just a-nother brick in the wall. well, that was an unplanned break from this website. suffice it to say that i've been busy with the switch over from from one isp to another, having 2 servers go down for a week each and redistributing 6 computers (each needing a reinstall before their move). ouch. so i haven't really been excited about being behind a computer much except to play. hannah's doing really good. she usually sleeps from 11pm to 7:30am with a 45 minute feeding in the middle. so my wife and i do get some decent sleep. she growing well and is getting more and more active and aware of her surroundings. very fun. and she is still really close to laughing when played with. i can't wait for that. she's a little fussy at night but that's probably due to her being tired from being so active all day. work is work. it's there and it's work. 'nuff said. i've gotten hooked on "baldur's gate 2 - shadows of amn" as of late. it's a rpg holding fast to the original ad&d rules. very cool. i started "baldur's gate" but it wasn't quite as interesting. i might go back and play it after i finish "bg2". i've also found there to be quite a collection of full movies available on the net. most of what i looked for (just to see) have been dvd rips... and there are quite a few available. who needs movies with these available? i guess the movie industry (just like the music industry) better figure out some better ways to distribute their product... or they're gonna get lost in the shuffle. peace, spudwrench
